I am a mother, teacher, ordained minister and Paqowarmi or medicine woman, spiritual practitioner of the Andean tradition, curandera, shaman and teacher. Born in New York, I preserve my Peruvian culture and family of healers through ceremony, rituals and teaching others. My shamanic initiation began with illnesses such as heart issues, Fibromyalgia, Cancer and more. It was in realigning with my ancestors that brought me back into whole. I am of Andean, Meso American and Nigerian blood, and I honor my ancestors by using music, faith, prayers and above all love when working with others.
Curanderos are healers were people who cured illnesses, with herbal treatments and massages to cleanse the spirit and heal illnesses. A healer is a person who heals the physical body through Spirit. Spirit is for some God, the Universe and all that is.
The shaman has special knowledge, acts outside established religions and acts alone. They have an ability to communicate with spirits, over which they have control whether good or bad. Most shamans have practices similar to magic. Shamans are an intermediary between the natural and spiritual world, traveling between worlds in a trance state. Once in the spirit world, they contact them for help in healing.
