Rituals are called rituales in Spanish. They have been part of humanity for centuries. A ritual is an action done repeatedly with a deeper significance, to invoke a positive outcome. They are powerful tools that help us connect from the internal to the external. In this day and age. We use them for community and personal needs. Some examples are birth, re-birth, death, healing, religion, initiation, nature, grief, and much more.
Below are the simplest of rituals you can do without breaking the bank to help you in your every day life. Please understand there is much more that goes into all of this but this is to assist you in your every day life.
This is a basic ritual you can incorporate into your morning routine. Ayni" or reciprocity is a powerful way of creating a relationship with the land as well as the unseen world. We do this by giving gratitude. Here is a simple but powerful tool. In the morning, prepare your coffee, take some grinds, and offering them to the land or your ancestors. Thank them for the abundance you will receive that day. You can do the same by offering some tobacco, water, or from your cup.
While deeper cleansings are sometimes necessary, a simple ritual you can do is by cleansing yourself daily in the shower or bath. Connect and speak with the water asking her to cleanse your body mind and spirit from any negativity or attachments that mayinterfere withn your body or energy field. You can ask to have any heavy energies or emotions released before or after you day. Take 3 bay leaves and burn them to clear your space.
Take some dry herbs from your kitchen and burn them to cleanse yourself and home for blessings each day. If you have rosemary tea, program this by sending intention for clarity and blessings for the day. You can use parsely and mint to clear and heal your body. Drawing prosperity can be done by taking 3 or 5 cloves and adding them to your purse or making a medicine pouch..
We often use jewelry or other amulets for preotection or to ward off heavy energies. What we are not told is that these items collect our heavy energies. You can do a few things to clear them daily or weekly. You can take them and place them in the earth or a ptted plant and alllow the soil to mulch the heavy enegies, especailly if they are stone because they naturally cleanse there all the time.
Bay leaves have been used for centureies in rituals. You can simply take or 3 bay leaves and program them by speaking into them to clear any heavy energy or stagnancy from your items. You can place them over a stone to keep you grounded and use a crystal (different from a stone's energy) such as quarts or amethyst to bring peace, attract harmony and abundance and above all spiritual connection.
In many spiritual traditions, salt embodies the earth, air, fire and water. It cleanses and preserves energy. Simply take a small plate, bowl or glass, one you will use just for cleansing, pour some salt on the center and place your items on it. You can pour more over it. Kosher salt or white sea salt is always recommended. White Himalayan salt is also very good. Pink salt is more for embuing other energies into them such as self-love.
Personal cleaning has been a part of cereomny and rituals forever. Didi you know, that Buddhists use incense, Catholics use water, and the Jewish faith uses chickens. Yes! Below are a few practices you can use. It is recommended as a daily or weekly practice at minimum once a month, but if you are like a sponge then consistency is necessary. Please be aware that any time you do a fitual or ceremony, you are opening portals. It is important to set the right intention and always ask for only your highest guides and protectors around you.
Many people are not aware that the earth is not dirty. It has been used for grounding and clearing across many cultures, Very simply, you can use soil to cover your feet at home to help ground and mulch your heavy energies. If no access outdoors, use soil from a potted plant. Imagine all the heavy energy as a dark mass just being absorbed by the earth. Be sure to return this to the earth or pot with gratitude. You can also take a stone, a stick, a leaf and cleanse your entire body with them as well. Remember, ervything must be done with permission, reverence and in full faith like it is done!
Western culture talks about saging but it's more complicated than just lighting sage and waving it around yourself or your home. Most people do NOT know what walks with them spiritually or what has been on their land. You can attract more of what you don't want if unaware. You can burn incense, copal, frankincense, and myrrh to cleanse yourself or your home. Take 3 bay leaves, speak cleansing into them, and wipe your entire body from head to toe. Remember after cleansing you want to imbue blessings, for what you remove, you have to replace. You can use the frankincense or myrrh for this and speak blessings over yourself.
Fire speeds things up and it transforms. It can be a powerful tool but like everything must be done with the utmost respect. You can light a small fire in a safe place at home or outdoors; you can even use a small white candle (any size). Connect with the fire and speak into the fire to cleanse and protect yourself. Somply take your hands over the fire and imagine drawing in the fire and smoke and cleanse your body from head to toe. Do this consciously 3 times. Take 4 candles for each of the four directions, place them accordingly and do the same cleansing in each direction.
Water is a natural form of cleansing. When in your home, remember that any time you use your bathtub or shower, you can cleanse yourself from heavy energies. Simply go in the water and take some sea salt with you. Use this salt to scrub you your body or any energies from your SHOULDERS down to the bottoms of your feet. You can also sit with your feet in a container with some salt for 10-15 minutes and allow the energies to dissolve.
