UHKUPACHA -The Lower World
Andean cosmology believes in three realms: the upperworld, the middle world, and the lower or the underworld. The underworld pertains to death and the ancestors. When you delve deep into your inner world, you engage with the idea that "we create heaven and hell on earth." This journey teaches you about yourself, your past, and helps you unlearn what is not "real." Your purpose here is to strengthen, rejuvenate, and experience a rebirth. When first called to my path, I had increasingly horrific dreams of serpents untilhe day I attended my first shamanic teaching. Once I learned the true meaning of the serpent, I instantly never had these nightmares again...
In Quechua, the term "paqari" means to birth. The inner world is also where we plant our seeds. This realm is symbolized by the serpent, as it moves softly upon the earth while shedding its past.
